Hello
I’m Yun.
I perform at the intersection of dance and visual arts. In 2024, I joined Su-Mi Jang’s cast in Social Sensorial Collectiveness, which premiered at Frieze Live. In 2025, I will perform in Young In Hong’s Five Acts at Art Sonje Center, channeling women who played key roles in the Korean Independence Movement and modern labor activism. My choreographic work, goo, was presented by Gyun Hur at the Goat Farm Center for the Arts, in dialogue with her installation Our Mothers, Our Water, Our Peace.
My choreography centers on reimagining archival texts through my queer lens, engaging with fiction and collaboration. My studies in Comparative Literature with postcolonial scholar Helen J.S. Lee at Yonsei University’s Underwood International College have deeply informed the research methods and values that shape my current practice.
In 2023, I participated in danceWEB in the frame of ImpulsTanz Festival, sponsored by the Korean Art Council. Since relocating to the US, I have served as a teaching fellow at the Five Colleges Consortium in Dance, where I’ve taught Advanced Composition, Contact Improvisation, and movement classes focused on somatics and conditioning. As of 2025, I am an MFA candidate in Choreography at the California Institute of the Arts.
